Fran Griffin
Fran Griffin is a Roman Catholic, a member of the Third Order of St. Dominic, a foundation president, a publisher, writer, editor, and publicist.
For 25 years she was President of Griffin Communications, a public relations firm, arranging press events, conferences, and media events in Washington, D.C. for hundreds of Christian and conservative organizations. The firm also organized book tours and advertising campaigns for prominent Catholic authors.
Born and raised in an Irish Catholic neighborhood in Chicago, Fran has a B.A. in Political Science from Dominican University (River Forest, Illinois) and an M.A., also in Political Science, from the University of Chicago. Before moving to Washington, D.C., she was a radio talk show host on WYCA-FM, and a candidate for the Illinois State Senate in addition to being the Illinois Chairman of Young Americans for Freedom, and serving on the national YAF Board of Directors.
Fran is proud of her 100% Irish ancestry. Her four grandparents’ surnames were Dunne, Keane, Fitzgerald, and Griffin. One of her Dunne relatives was the Irish Archbishop, St. Oliver Plunkett, who was martyred for the faith in 1681.
