Séamus Ó Fianghusa (Fennessy)

Mr. Ó Fianghusa is a bestselling author, publisher, and scholar who has been dubbed “the historian of the Fighting 69th” by Fox News.  He was a contributor to the groundbreaking Smithsonian Channel and TG4 documentary ‘Fighting Irish of the Civil War’ in the U.S. and ‘Fág an Bealach’ in Ireland. He has been interviewed about the end of the Afghan War by numerous media outlets in the U.S. and in Ireland.   He is also an army infantry veteran with over 20 years of military service, 10 of which were with the legendary Fighting 69th. Séamus’ combat experience was the subject of ​‘Dúshlán,’ the first ever Irish language documentary filmed in the Afghan war zone, which first aired on TG4 in January, 2012.  As a historian, soldier, and Irish language activist, Séamus has been featured on a variety of media outlets internationally, including NBC, CNN, and Fox News in the United States, and RTÉ, TG4, and BBC in Ireland.  In the private sector he worked as an Explosive Detection Canine Handler in New York City.
